This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sometimes Sheri sits and studies Bob's face,
thinking back to a different time
 and a very different place.

She wonders if she'd known the path life would take
Would she have held on a little tighter
shown a little more grace.

Would she cherish more deeply
small signs that he cared
would she listen more carefully
to the words that he shared.

She trys hard not to look back
as she can't change the past
but she looks back to look forward
as to not miss one more brief chance.

  1. Nice way to remind us all to cherish the time we have with our love ones.
