This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has been dismantling this tiny house she rented 5 years ago, when she lost her home to what she calls Alzheimer's foreclosure. She has been taking it apart piece by piece all around Bob but "Al" has not even noticed. She is glad in many ways that he he doesn't notice or understand. But she does miss the days she could seek support from him and when she felt they were in this together. Truth be told that was many, many years ago, before the Alzheimer diagnosis. Sheri should have realized  something was not right and sought help. September is Alzheimer Awareness Month, pay attention to unusual behaviors in your loved ones, it could be something serious.
