This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob woke Sheri in the middle of the night and said "LOOK at this!" and handed Sheri what felt like a very familiarly (is that a word lol)  heavy handkerchief, folded neatly in a square. Sheri, (too  tired to really care) said "where did this come from?" "Al" replied with confusion in his voice "Here in my pocket".

Sheri held it in her hand half asleep but was to tired to open it, just set down on the end table. When she woke in the morning she thought maybe she had dreamed the heavy hankie but there it was on the nightstand. So she thought she would open it and see what all of "Al"s excitement was about.

Sheri should have know, "Al" was excited about his find, but Bob must have been REALLY uncomfortable sleeping on the nuts and bolts lol. :)
