This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri had to think fast yesterday morning when she looked out the window and saw that the choir bus (code for Metro Mobility bus) had taken on a different shape. Sheri said with excitement in her voice "Look ! They sent a private car for you today aren't you special!" to which "Al" replied in Bob's in new found German accent "very gut (said like ui in suit, sorry the best example I could think of lol) very gut".   :)

    Sheri:
I remember Bob speaking in some German terms back in high school. I also seem to recall him talking about his grand parents and maybe his parents speaking with a distinct accent when he was a kid. Remember, by the time I met him he was about 15 and living in PA.
