This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob is in significant pain this morning. He had an epidural in his lower back yesterday to try to relieve some of his severe back pain. But of course pain always gets worse before it gets better with this type of procedure. Bob always had an extremely high pain tolerance, "Al" apparently... not so much. :(

  1. A good friend of mine's mother, who is 91, has Alzheimer's and I have visited her with my friend on several occasions at the hospice where she is living. I didn't know much about Al until I began visiting this place and seeing the different stages of it in the people there. I also recently saw a couple of good videos on YouTube which explain it quite well. Nice to see your blog.
