This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob's back pain is intense, but the sharp jabs come no matter what position he is in. Walking , sitting, laying no position is good. The MRI showed no significant changes, but his back is in really rough shape and has been for many years and after several surgery's pain relief is really all that is left. Sheri tried the distraction technique yesterday. She grabbed her camera and went on a short drive. Bob and "Al" were in pain but somewhat content. She stopped for short changing position breaks in and out of the car. Sometimes nature is the best medicine, for Sheri too.
