This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is in that place again. She recognizes the symptoms of this cycle of anxiety and despair that can overwhelm her. She was thinking about how terribly sad this disease really is. We spend our whole lives making memories. So if we don't have our past, what do we have? The past is the sum of our life, the completed puzzle of who we were and who we are. The inability to reflect on the past, means that joy only comes in the morning when we start each day anew.

Psalm 30:5
...weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
