This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob is thinking that the choir at work (code for Adult Day Center) is ready for the " big show". Sheri is not quite sure which "show" but they have been doing quite well. The link below is their recent performance. This is audio only no pictures (privacy reasons.) Bob did not have a solo in this one, but if you listen carefully you can hear a deep voice in there some where. Amazing thing they do with a room full of "Al's. Thank you Open Circle!   :)

  2. That was so good, Sheri. What a neat thing for them all to do. It was wonderful. My Mom would have loved to do that.

We have an older couple in or group and Don says that Sarah who cannot do anything else anymore can still sing in their corral and as good as always where he say he cannot-Music is amazing for our loved ones. Did you see Glen Campbell's movie --amazing how he could perform when he couldn't do much else
