Sheri's luck with Bob and "Al" retiring early and sleeping well, are days of the past. Sheri thinks "Al" may have a bit of sundowning going on. He also seems to be doing some hallucinating. Last night "Al" kept sitting partially up in the bed, shifting his eyes and turning his head from side to side. Sheri asked him if he was ok. "Al" repiled "I was just looking at the walls, you see they are not the same color, pointing at the differnt walls "Al" said that one is red , this one blue, and that one yellow. I guess we could use the bushes out there for the green, they don't mean anything to us."
This went on for a hour and half over and over again.
#feeling tired
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.
