This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri snuck outside early this morning with her coffee and camera, hoping Bob and "Al" would stay in bed just a little bit longer. That little bit of time by herself gives her time to think and breathe. She needs that desperately, alone time is hard to come by. The crisp cool air this morning is just what Sheri needed and hearing the sparrow sing gave her such hope.
 Simple pleasures Sheri, simple pleasures.

  1. I always look forward to your photos. Under a lot of stress myself, not Alzheimers related, I find a creative outlet is very meditative. It is my best time to hear God. I am so glad you have your photography. You have a great eye.
Do you know if there's ever been a collection or show of carers creative works?

    1. HI! Thanks for the kind words about the photos it is my life line. Stress from any source is draining, praying yours gets easier. I have never heard of a craft show just for carers, but great idea!
