This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is desperate for conversation, true conversation. She tried last night to talk to Bob like she used to. "Al" wanted to participate, speaking is not issue, making sense of what he says is another thing. Much like the not being able to make a sandwich, and getting dressed and undressed Bob's sequencing skills have deteriorated, so trying to put to together more than a couple of words before he forgets his thought process, means that conversation runs in loop over and over again. So the reality is Sheri was just talking for the sake of talking.
Sheri hates this disease.
