This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri decided she needed to distract Bob from his pain yesterday, and since the temperature was in the twenties in the frozen tundra, they ventured to one of their favorite bird watching spots. With one finger in his belt loop stretching out Bob's back in his usual way, sweet and gentle "Al" suggested that next time we come, we should bring enough wood to build a shelter for the birds so they don't have to eat out in the cold. :)

  2. I love that his sweetness has stayed intact. I see so many that get bitter and difficult.
