This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri thought she would try to distract "Al" on one of the deep cold "frozen tundra" days and gave him a coloring book and crayons and told him they were going to color. Sheri gave him a page and she took a page, and so they began. A few minutes into the process, old Bob appeared out of no where and with clear authority in his voice looked over the top of his glasses at Sheri and said " exactly WHY am I doing this again?" Sheri, stunned by the unexpected appearance of "Bob" found herself scrambling to come up with and answer. "A.... well... there are children that do not have pictures on the walls so we are coloring pictures to give to them." ( Huh? Where did I come up with that?) Luckily "Al" reappeared and responded "Oh okay."  :)
Fiblets... Sheri never was a very good liar.
