This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has had several of those laser toys for cats. Bob loves to play with them with Zoey. The only problem is some how the toy keeps getting lost Sheri is up to replacement number 5 now, and like everything else, Sheri has not understood how that is possible in such a tiny house, until yesterday. Sheri was cleaning up and went to dust under the tissue box in the living room, it felt unusually heavy so she investigated a little further. To her surprise the latest laser toy she had spent 45 minutes hunting for, (okay, it just felt like 45 minutes, her patience wore out long before that and she gave up :)  was tucked neatly in between the tissues in the tissue box... heavy sigh.  :)

  1. we have entered the "land of the lost" phase - this month so far missing are MY MP-3 player, his wedding ring, his favorite insulated, expensive car-coffee mug that he used for his daily ice water. This is not including the daily search for his routine pocket items like cel phone & wallet. I'm gonna start x-raying the trash before we head to the dumpsters !! oh well, it's just STUFF, right?
