This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri had a great weekend with Bob and "Al". Daughter number one ( the one who wears her heart on her sleeve) came over and helped Sheri get some of her big pots planted. The three of them worked together to "get the job done" as Bob would have said. Sheri and Daughter number one both realized though, there are very few things that Bob can do now, without repeated step by step direction. Nothing is easy anymore not even the simplest tasks. Take dirt from here and put it here, was overwhelming for "Al". Sheri was grateful to have some help... because it would have quite possibly taken till "frozen tundra time" at the rate "they" were going. Plus Sheri was reminded again that "Al" the not so handy man, doesn't like to his hands dirty.    :)
heavy sigh....
