This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri and Bob have 2 daughters 22 and 20. Over the week end Sheri was telling Bob that daughter number 2 ( the one who shields her heart with her sleeve) was celebrating her 5 year anniversary dating her boyfriend. Bob turned to Sheri and casually said "So how long have we been married?" Sheri joking replied "Well do you want to take a guess? I won't be mad if you get it wrong." "Al" guessed 15 years, Sheri said with a smile guess again, "Al" said questioningly 18 years? Sheri just smiled... "Al" said with great surprise on his face 20 YEARS? Sheri said close... 23 years. Then out of nowhere a moment of clarity, Bob says "23 years? And you have been putting up with me that long?" :)
