This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Bob was always the "do nothing to draw attention to yourself " type of guy, even as a child. "Al" not so much. Sheri and Bob were at there favorite park last evening taking pictures. They were on the their way back to car, when a a couple passed them headed into the park. "Al" reach out his arm and touched the man on the shoulder stopping him, and said "have you ever been here before this is a great place to bring the Vets from work." Th man did not really stop, just looked at "Al" like "Buddy don't touch me... you are invading my space". Sheri has not seen this type of behavior before. "Al" appears to be much more social then Bob ever was. It made Sheri a tad bit uncomfortable.
