This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri decided she should try to sell some of her patio art she has been making, so she took Bob and "Al" to the hardware store with her to buy some white paint to make a sign. She mentioned she needed to paint on wood so Bob said she needed to prime it first. They picked out a can of white primer and a can of white paint. They got home to begin the project and Sheri asked Bob to prime the wood. "Al" picks up the 2 cans and asks Sheri "Why do we have 2 cans of paint?" Sheri replies "You said we needed to prime the wood first." "Al" replies but they are both white"  Sheri, getting frustrated says "yes, that is the way we planned it" "Al" reply's "well, which do I use first?"  Ah... the handy is definitely gone out of the man.   :(
