This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

When Sheri picked up Bob at "work" (code for Adult Day Center) yesterday one of the kind ladies that actually works there, stuck her head in the car window and shared that Bob had been part of winning in a three way tie in their bowling game. She did not give it too much more thought until later in the evening when "Al" casually mentioned that he had won in bowling again today and no one had even came close to him.  Then a light bulb went off in her head, Sheri could not help but chuckled to herself, Bob and "Al" had actually pulled one over on Sheri! It really never her crossed her mind that he might not really be winning every time, maybe all his "coworkers" bring home mushy chocolate candy in their pockets!
Gotta love him!
