This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob has a very bad back, he has been watching the commercial for those patches you put on your back to stop pain and soothe. ( His back is way past any of that type of thing helping) but he wanted to try them. So Sheri picked some up while they were out. When they got home she told Bob she would put one on his back for him. He was very excited. Sheri put it on and Bob laid down on the bed to rest. All of a sudden "Al" says, "Oh no" Sheri responded "whats wrong" "Al" says "well, you put that patch on my back, but now I can't lift my legs." Sheri not knowing what to say replied, "well you needed to take a nap anyway right?" "Al" replied "yep, maybe the patch will have worn off by then."   :)
