This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character"Al" that I created in 2008 represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and "Al"

This weekend, daughter number two ( the one who shields her heart with her sleeve) came home from college. It was nice to have her home. Meeko the cat needed her back claws trimmed so between Sheri and daughter number two they tackled the task. Meeko was being less than cooperative. Bob was sitting near by in his rocking chair. After a few minutes of watching daughter number two struggle to hold Meeko still, "Al" speaking Bob's mind said "Maybe it would help if you gave Meeko a lolli-pop to suck on."
Isn't that sweet? (No pun intended)  :)

  1. I would like to borrow daughter #2 because Miss Booey does not believe in nail touching, PERIOD! We have a vet who comes to the house and takes her out into a traveling Vet RV. I always say, "Watch her claws" and when the vet comes back in with her... the nails are trimmed and the vet is red, sweating and a bit breathless. LOL Hmmm!? I wonder if a sardine pop would help?
