This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob's "work" (code for Adult Day Center) had a wonderful fundraising Spaghetti dinner last evening. When Sheri came in Bob was sitting by the piano with his favorite piano player. Bob introduced her to Sheri, they shook hands and the 3 of them talked a few minutes. A few minutes later Bob and Sheri sat down for their dinner at the table right next to the piano. "Al" with great surprise, and excitement on his face, looked up at Sheri as the music was playing and said "this is the good piano player I really want you to meet her, remind me to introduce you to her...." :)

  1. Do you go through the intros again, or just gloss over it and move on?

    1. Most of the time, on the next intro I will say "nice to see you", and smile sweetly..LOL... so I don't embarrass him.
