This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri doesn't understand how this disease works. Sheri and Bob have a player piano that the family has been singing with for years. Last night Bob could not figure out how to turn it on... but more disturbing than that was that it must have been "Al"singing because the voice coming out of Bob's mouth was definitely  not Bob's. Very strange.

Thank you for posting your story. My father has alzheimers and my mother is his caretaker. There are times when she feels that she is the only one experiencing this horrible disease. Your honesty has let her know she is not alone.
    Thank You

    1. You are very welcome. Isolation is one of the worst parts of this disease. Hugs to your family.
