This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob is still fixated on the state of the economy. Driving to "work" (code for Adult Day Center) "Al" will say "Just look at all these closed business, because government couldn't balance the budget, they all went under" Sheri thinks to herself  yawning with a heavy sigh it is 7:30 am.... they just haven't woken up yet. :)

  1. Do you have a cd of music that was popular when your husband was a teenager or when he was courting you? I wonder what conversations you would have if you played it.

  2. I do the same thing when something is said that doesn't make sense in the non Al world. I think the correct thing in my head, but I don't say it, because the reasoning just isn't there. Harder to do some times than others!
