This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri thinks that "Al" might be starting to speak what is on Bob's mind. Yesterday while watching a TV show where a girl was dressed inappropriately, "Al" said sternly "I think that is what is called slutty". Sheri ans daughter number 2 (the one who shields her heart with her sleeve) were shocked. Bob has never used terminology like that, to much of a gentleman. :)

I've noticed that my dad swears in public areas where he normally would never have done that previously. One time he spit on the edge of the sidewalk while we were walking by a restaurant with outdoor seating. I was shocked. I could never recall him spitting in public, ever!
