This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al
In Sheri's never ending effort to give Bob and "Al" something useful to do, she asked Bob to fill the bird feeders again. They were empty not because of the birds, but because they were inexpensive and the bottoms fall off every couple of days. So Bob decided that before filling them he should fix that problem. He worked diligently at the problem for about 4 1/2 hours and came out proudly to show Sheri he had accomplished the task. "Bob" had taken wire and wired the base to the container portion in about 3 places which was a good fix, Sheri was quite impressed. Upon closer examination however "Al" had also wired the top of the feeder to the container in about 3 places leaving... no way to fill the bird feeder :)

Sheri... this is one of those precious moments. Thank you for sharing, it made me chuckle.
ReplyDeleteSounds like something I would do. I just toss my on the ground now. Easier than messing with the feeders. LOL! Good luck.
