Living with Bob and Al

Sheri has had such of mix of emotions this week
Sheri has been calling the nursing home several times a day and visiting Bob daily after work
Bob and "Al" were very confused at the beginning, packing up several times the first day and night
Wanting Sheri to come and get him, a very, very, painful thing to hear.
The first day that Sheri went back to see him he had tied all of his clothes together
in a knot in one big pile and has his coat on ready to go... Sheri had to fight back the tears.
She sat down and explained that he was only there for a couple weeks while they
did physical therapy on his back, his responds was the familiar "Oh, I didn't know that,
no one told me the plan"
So the next day, Sheri brought a binder the kind Bob is familiar with from his working days
In it Sheri put "The Plan". She typed it out Bob you are at .....you are here for a short while
4-6 weeks while they try to help you back, then you will come home.
She made a list of his favorite TV shows and things to do if he gets bored.
She added some photos of herself and daughter number one and daughter number 2.
This seemed to help.
Because the nurses said he tried to "escape" the first night they have some alarms on
him and his cane. And "they" are on what the social worker called a 15 minute watch, when Sheri is not there.Which means some one has to physically see him every 15 minutes.
Bob told Sheri yesterday "They must really like me here, I cant believe it, they don't know me from Adam
but they come in and talk to me ... it must be 3 or 4 times an hour! I can't believe how friendly they are"
Well, at least Sheri knows they are doing their job and she had a chuckle even the face of great pain.
