This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri is trying to finish all the details
needed to get assistance for Bob.
While doing so she notices that the heat in house is not working right.
The house has boiler heat, something Sheri has not learned to much about
the family room was really hot but the rest of the house was really, really cold
hummm...Sheri had flashbacks to a time this happened and they had waterfalls
in 4 if the rooms where the pipes had frozen, not good Sheri thought.
She is going from room to room feeling the pipes
Bob and "Al" see what she is doing and ask if they can help
Sheri mumbles  half out loud "no just trying to figure out why some pipes are ice cold
and the family room pipes are so hot.
Bob starts following her from room to room hobbling with his cane
as he usually does and "Al" says
"Here is the problem" Sheri thinks' hurray!  Maybe he  CAN still figure this out!"
What do you think it is Bob? "Al" answers as he removes the radiator cover
from the pipes. "Here is the problem we need wipe off all the dust from the pipes
that all, it acts like a blanket and it holds the heat in."
Sheri's hurray faded into a oy vey....
