This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Today on the way back from the doctor appointment
Sheri decides to stop at McDonald's
And get Bob, "Al" and herself a milk shake, a rare treat.
They get the shakes and there is whip cream and a cherry on top
( that is something new since the last time Sheri has gotten a shake )
the shake has one of those tall clear lids
and the cherry is right in the hole
where the straw goes, it was so cute! Sheri eats the cherry right way to put the
straw in.They finish the shakes and Bob gets to the end of his shake
he starts shaking his head in great disappointment. "Al" points to the bottom
of his cup and says "Someone should tell McDonald's not to put a cherry in the shake
because there is NO WAY to eat it when it is at the bottom of the cup, and you can't
suck it up the straw!" Sheri giggles to herself and reaches over and takes the lid off of "Al's' cup ...  :)
