This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Yesterday, while Sheri was at work daughter number 2 called frantically, Bob was outside trying to shovel the driveway She had asked him to stop, but to no avail. The issue is that besides the Frontal Lobe Dementia and the Alzheimer's, Bob has always been what Sheri called a body abuser. Sheri didn't understand was that it is his lack of judgment that was causing this. Bob and "Al" have had "their" neck fused together, a broken back, back surgery for herniated disks, and both knees repaired, and both shoulders repaired. Not to mention "They" just damaged the shoulder and knee at "their" Thanksgiving fall event!. Keeping "them" in one piece is never ending process. Sheri was hoping to be able to have daughter number two keep and eye on "them" until she goes back to college, giving Sheri some time to get settled at her new job, Sheri thinks probably not...
