This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Now it is Sheri that is frustrated
The outside temp is minus 15
and the boiler keeps going out
a blown fuse apparently. Bob and Al
keep reseting it but it keeps blowing every 30 minutes or so...
Now in the frozen tundra a boiler being down
means frozen pipes and a massive problem
Sheri can't figure out what is causing the fuse to blow
Sheri need to think like Bob before "Al" moved in.
Then as she ponders what would draw so much electricity
she recalls (vaguely) Al muttering something
about an electric heater...
Think Sheri, where would that be, and she embarks on
a mission, sure enough in the tuck under garage
where no life exsists she finds not just one, but two electric
heaters plugged into the same outlet..
The handy is definitely gone out of the man.
Sheri hates this disease.
