This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri upset Bob today
she did not mean to of course
but Bob said he wanted to take a bath
in the upstairs tub,(You know, the one that is hooked
up to nothing)
Any way when Sheri said "You can't that tub it
floods the laundry room" Al said
"What?  I didn't know that!'
Then Sheri, who was just frustrated and tired
Said the forbidden words
"Yes you did Bob, you did know that!'
I took you downstairs and showed you and you put your
hand over the open pipe" "You said it wasn't right"
Sheri knew she crossed over into forbidden territory
Bob and Al clenched their jaw in anger
an emotion not seen on their face very often
an anger that faded quickly to humiliation...
Sheri felt awful and could not take back
the words or the pain it caused.....

  1. We all do it Sheri... after all, we are only human. Forgive yourself and move on, focus on love and everything gets calm.
