Sheri wonders sometimes
what it is, that Bob and Al are thinking about
They sit silently in the car as Sheri drives them
from place to place
Sitting silently in the chair, while Sheri
works on this or that
Sheri used to ask, before she new about
Al and the brain injury,
She would ask,"what are you thinking about?"
And after several minutes and several times of Sheri repeating herself
the answer would always be the same, "I don't know" or no answer at all
Sheri would say, "Well, say the first thing that comes to mind.."
And still nothing.
Sheri realized that first half of there marriage Sheri did enough
talking for the both of them
Now it appears Sheri will spend the second half
Doing the talking for the three of them.
But Sheri misses conversation, just day to day conversation...
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.
