This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri is upset and feeling blue
Now "Al" has invaded her garden too
She went outside early as she does everyday
to soak up the beauty of mornings early rays
To her surprise as she meandered about
she sees that her roses are brown and dried out
the leaves now are brittle and crumbled in pain
How can this be(she thinks) with all of the rain?
Well Bob had the idea that the sun was too hot
and for Minnesota he was not that far off
But "Al" in his effort to keep the roses very moist
Watered the roses from dawn until dusk
Which means that when the sun was high in the air
he sprayed water on the leaves, (92 degrees ) with such care
Sheri has told "them" many times over "water from the bottom"
"Rose leaves are delicate and the water will rot them"
But again the few things Sheri really enjoys
have "Al's" handywork thumbprint stealing her joy...

She just may have a good reason to make another trip to the garden center :)
