This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri got a chance to spend some time
With the daughter that always appears perfectly fine

She is the one that shields her heart with her sleeve
She is the one that Sheri's never quite sure what she needs

But it is clear from the words that were spoken that day
that the heart she been shielding has been swelling in pain

For the sleeve that's been covering the hurt and the pain
is tattered and torn from her attempts made in vain

The flood gates opened, they held on to each other
But Sheri feels like she has failed at being her mother....

So she will try to provide bigger sleeves of her own
to shield her daughter's heart from feeling alone....

Isaiah 40:11
"He tends His flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart; He gently leads those that have young."
