This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri really can't believe now
As they struggle through each day
that Sheri did not see Al's presence
In the things Bob did not say.

So many times her answer was
" Are you not listening to me?"
"I asked you to do "blah blah blah"
" and pick up the girls at three"

The girls remember waitng, many times
at school underneath the tree
Feeling scared and worried
Now where can Daddy be?

Well Al did not recall those
coversations Sheri had with Bob
"They" were at the hardware store
working very hard.

And when they finally got home
and discussed the major mess
Bob's eyes would say I'm sorry
And Al would bow his head....
