This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Out of nowhere yesterday a tiny bit of Bob popped through "Al's" fog. As they were driving home from "work" (code for Adult Day Center) Bob turned to Sheri and said "I don't even know if I have a drivers license anymore." This caught Sheri very off guard so in the next few seconds she was nervously thinking to herself redirect Sheri, redirect. So Sheri ignored his statement and said " Look at those pretty flowers by that fence, to which "Al" replied " Oh yeah... I built that fence." Which "Al" repeated for the next three fences they passed.
Mission accomplished.
