This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

In Sheri's never ending quest to keep Bob active and engaged, (and because She took the pipe cleaners away) She went out in pursuit of something new. Sheri tries hard to keep in mind things Bob was familiar with in his work careers. Since he managed a hardware store in his last career she tends to focus on things of that nature.  She was pretty sure Bob no longer recognizes child things, so she tried something that she found out a Teachers store called Lakeshore Learning  and found this totally enclosed board with paint cans, that with a magnetic wand to pull the paint balls in the cans. Sheri was a still a little concerned that Bob would see it has a child's toy, but her fears were set to rest quickly when "Al" said "this is great,  there is a cover on this so none of the paint will spill out."  :)
