This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob is so very proud of his award from "work" (code for Adult Day Center). Bob is beaming and "Al" is sure he is the only one that was recognized for his achievements.  :)
Feeling valued is one of the most important things for Bob, thank you Open Circle Adult Day Center we are family.

  1. Hi, Sheri,
Loved the video of Bob singing the other day; what a beautiful voice! So nice that he can sing in the choir at "work". My mother loved music and one of the movies she watched over and OVER was "Sound of Music" :) I am going to try to send you a link to a hymn on Youtube that is one of my favorites. Here goes:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5KsKsEu0v0 It is a modern version of "Abide with Me" and really helps me look to the Lord.

    With love & prayers,
    Kathryn Z.
