This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

In Sheri's never ending quest to find things to keep Bob active and engaged, Sheri discovered that pipe cleaners are "Al's' new best friend. The handyman that Bob was keeps "Al" busy for hours bending and twisting, and stringing beads on them creating beautiful works of "art". Then Sheri will take the "boys" out for a bit to run errands and then when they come home Bob, the problem solver that he is, will pick up the twisted mess and spend the next few hours untwisting and straightening and mumbling  under "Al's" breath  " somebody really made a mess out of this." :)
