This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob is still frustrated that he is not allowed to drive. It has been almost five years now, Sheri is very thankful that he can not drive though, because when they pulled up to a stop light on the way home last night Bob was challenging Sheri on her driving. "Well" "Al" said "the light is green over there why aren't you going? Sheri calmly answered "Well that light is for those cars in the lane that are turning." "Al" responded "well that can't be, that sign over there says do not enter" "Sheri getting frustrated says " No, that sign is to make sure someone does not turn into oncoming traffic." "Al" said " Well, then WHY would their light turn green." :)
(Very heavy sigh)
