This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

In Sheri's never ending quest for something for Bob and "Al" to do on a rainy day, she remembered that Bob has been saving every sheet of trivia that he brings home from "work" (code for Adult Day Center). So Sheri had the bright idea to let Bob put them in a three ring binder. The only problem was they did not have a three hole punch, so off to the store they went. When they got home Sheri was feeling very good about the plan to keep Bob busy for a couple of hours. The only thing she did not count on, is that even with Sheri close by, "Al" had the brand new three hole punch in pieces and broken beyond repair within the hour....   :(
(Heavy sigh)
