This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is remembering a time when daughter number1 ( the one who wears her heart on her sleeve) and daughter number 2 ( the one who shields her heart with her sleeve) were still in school. Before she knew that "Al" existed, Sheri was so frustrated and hurt that Bob expressed no emotion and showed no signs of wanting to work on their relationship, that Sheri set a personal goal that if she and Bob could not find a way back to their marriage, that after the girls graduated high school ( which at that point was 5 years away) she was going to consider getting a divorce. She even went so far as to seek counsel about it from her Pastor. She did not want live in a loveless marriage.
