This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is dabbling with art, trying to teach herself how to draw. Looking for normalcy in idle conversation, Sheri shows Bob the two pictures of eyes she tried to draw, two single eyes. "Al"stares at the pictures for several seconds with his head tilted to one side. Sheri says "well, what do you think?" With much hesitation "Al" says  "A.... I think as a pair, your perspective on size is a little off, maybe try a ruler."   :)

  1. You go Sheri! The eyes look great to me. Lol...to Al's response.

My mom has signed my dad up for hospice care. He is having heart trouble now also. Please remember us in prayer!

Have a good week. Blessings, Karen

  2. Sheri - I read you every day. Some days I laugh, some days I sigh and every day I send you a huge hug. You and Bob are extraordinary and I thank you for sharing that with us.
Keep writing and drawing and give Bob a hug from me!
