This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob has a new habit. Sheri will throw things away and "Al" will take them back out of the garbage. Five things yesterday alone. When she asked Bob why he took the items out "Al" replied "Well, I didn't know if you needed it." Sheri only thought she had a problem with clutter in this tiny house she rented. :)

  1. Every 69 seconds someone develops Alzheimer’s disease. Please share this video and one thing that you never want to forget to help end Alzheimer’s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeHTTonG6co&feature=player_embedded

  2. Been there! If I am throwing something out, that I think might spark his interest, I always bury it below other trash. Gross, I know, but necessary. Hang in there!
