This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character"Al" that I created in 2008 represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Today is daughter number two's (the one who shields her heart with her sleeve) 20th birthday. Sheri is so very proud of the young lady she has become. Sheri is still fearful though that Bob will not be around for the many more landmarks dates yet to come in daughter number one and daughter number two's life. It is probably one of the saddest parts of this disease. Alzheimer's robs not only the past but the future as well. The lesson they are all learning is to live life one day at a time, just the way that it is, whether they like it or not.
