This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob is happy again. He has a another concert next week for "work" (code for Adult Day Center). He told Sheri he did not think they were going to give him his solo, but they did! His two lines from "In the Garden" it is written out big so he can read it. Sheri his so glad he has something to look forward to. Then "Al" said in an almost child like manner, "Hey I know, maybe we can start a band at work, I am going to suggest that tomorrow." Hummm... Sheri thought, maybe it is a good thing she did't sell his tuba, but now she is going to have to remember where she put it, but wait he is not going to remember how to play that is he? Well at this point Sheri is willing to try anything.   :)
