This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character"Al" that I created in 2008 represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri and Daughter Number 1 were at the emergency room at 3:00 am after Bob and "Al" fell in the bathroom. They think "Al" may have cracked Bob's rib in the fall, but either way the treatment is the same, not much they can do other then powerful meds. Gonna be a long day. Will revisit the doctor on Friday.
Heavy sigh.

  1. So sorry, hope recovery from the accident is speedy and he's not in much pain.

  2. So sorry to hear this news. Prayers for a fast healing.

  3. Hopefully the pain meds will let him sleep. Are you able to give him sleeping pills so that he can sleep at night or do they not work for someone with Alzheimer's?

    1. Most sleep meds increase the fall risk :(
