This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is sitting in a coffee shop with Bob, after dropping off Daughter Number Two at the airport. Sheri is having trouble fighting back the tears. "Al's" only concern if he has choir today, and if he is late for "work" (Code for Adult Day Center). Sheri HATES this disease.
Sheri needs to pause, praise and pray.

  1. Sheri, I know how hard it is not to have someone share, feel, and understand your emotions. Wish I give you a hug right now.

  2. Not as a wife, but as a daughter, I understand a little of how you might be feeling....To know to "pause, pray, and praise" takes SOME of the sting out of the loneliness/frustration/sadness....but only a little :(
