This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character"Al" that I created in 2008 represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri took Bob to a German town called New Ulm about and hour and a half away yesterday. They have a big Octoberfest celebration each year and being German Bob loves the music. Sheri splurged and they had lunch at a nice German restaurant. Bob had a nice big lunch including bratwurst and spazel. They had a great time and Sheri took a few photos along the way. They had only just gotten into the car to head home after lunch when Bob announced he had not eaten anything all day. Sheri just patted his knee and sighed. Saying to herself " he enjoyed it in the moment, he enjoyed it in the moment. "  :)

  1. Not remembering eating a meal seems ok, but not being hungry would seen to keep him satisfied and not think of food. I have noticed that my husband will go with out breakfast and lunch and say he isn't hungry but if I fix a meal

  2. (Continued) if I fix a meal he will eat it. I wonder if he senses hunger.
